David A. Stern, PE
President
David founded Westec Construction, Inc. in 1984. He led the firm through the rapid development of the 80's, slow times of the '90's, expansion of the 00's and the current booming growth of 2021 in California.
As head of a small business, David's role includes Project Manager, Operations Manager, Administrator and Estimator. He relies on a multi-talented and highly skilled core group which supports him in supervisory capacities and hands-on performance.
Westec is affiliated with local Space Planners, Architects and Engineers for Commercial Space and Car Stacking Systems.
A 1976 Princeton University graduate, cum laude, in Civil Engineering, he began his career with Turner Construction Company's Los Angeles office where he became a Field Superintendent. Working on projects such as the Blue Cross Headquarters Building in Woodland Hills and the Coopers & Lybrand remodel of the former Shell Oil Building. Following that tour of field work, David joined Stegeman and Kastner as Project Manager. He then went on to Build Hotels in China and High Rise Developments in San Francisco. David is a licensed General Contractor, Registered Civil Engineer and an Expert Witness for Construction Litigation. He has a lovely wife and fabulous son.
